Mary Temple Grandin PhD, is an American professor of animal science at Colorado State University, world-renowned autism spokesperson and consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior.

“It actually goes back to a career I had before as special education teacher and Temple Grandin is a woman who has autism. She was the first person to write about what it means to have autism and to write about it from the inside and to present that to the world. She personalised something that wasn’t understood and she created this space for people with disabilities to be seen as who they are first. It was a very powerful thing.
She has never forgotten that her mom and her aunts stood for her. And wanted her to be the best person she could be. She has changed the face of special education for decades.”
